I use water base oil paint, less toxic but still able to create the luminous effect of traditional oil paint on canvas. The canvas is framed by 5/8 inch of wood painted in gold acrylic paint.
Marianne Gunther is an artist and creative art psychotherapist with a private practice in NYC. In 2014, after many years of not painting and directing her creativity into the art of therapeutic listening, Marianne felt the call to put brush back onto canvas and began a series of paintings which resulted in her January 2015 exhibition; Reflected Reverie at the Center for Remembering and Sharing, near Union Square, Manhattan.
Lulu Lifting was created from Marianne’s early morning Tibetan meditative practice called Sky Gazing, a tradition of gazing directly at the open sky which leads to resting in a natural open state, clearing and freeing the mind from conceptual elaborations.
