Drive is a video installation that combines traditional cinematic technology with new
tracking, identifying, and targeting technologies. Combining old and new, analog and
network, civilian and military, Drive moves toward a post-cinematic language that has
specific historical and political resonances.
Jordan Crandall (jordancrandall.net) is an artist, writer, and performer. His work blends media art, political theatre, technoscientific inquiry, and philosophical speculation in the form of video installations, writings, multimedia projects and performances. He is a Professor in the Visual Arts Department at University of California, San Diego. He is currently completing Autodrive, which speculates on the challenges brought by the rise of artificial intelligence in the culture of automotive life.
