John Canemakeris an Academy Award-winning independent animator, animation historian, NYU professor, author. He won a 2005 Oscar and a 2006 Emmy Award for his 28-min. animated short, The Moon and the Son: An Imagined Conversation. His work is in The Museum of Modern Art Film Collection and are distributed by Milestone Film & Video. He is a tenured full professor/head of Animation Studies at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. He is author of twelve books on film animation history. His articles and reviews have appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Print Magazine, and Esopus.
