“Duplicating Machinist” is one of a series of two-sided hanging prints from the series
“Suspensions”. The series consists of two- and three-dimensional constructions of
objects gathered from abandoned desert shacks in and around Joshua Tree and
Twentynine Palms, CA.

Perry Hoberman is a media artist, educator, inventor and musician. He works with
a wide variety of new and old technologies, ranging from the obsolete to the state-
of-the-art. Hoberman has exhibited internationally, with major shows throughout
the USA and Europe, and he has been the recipient of many awards and honors,
including Guggenheim and Rockefeller Fellowships, as well as prizes from Prix
Ars Electronic and the ICC Biennale. Hoberman has taught and lectured widely,
with appointments at Cooper Union, the San Francisco Art Institute, the California
Institute of the Arts, the School of Visual Arts and the USC School of Cinematic
Arts. He is a recognized expert and pioneer in stereoscopic 3D media and virtual
reality.
